No Shows / Late Cancellations

As we are a family run, independent restaurant our business relies heavily on reservations being honoured and/or sufficient notice being given of any changes to the booking.  Due to an increasing amount of late cancellations and no shows, we now require a valid debit or credit card to confirm your reservation. 

Debit/credit card details are held digitally encrypted and securely and will only be charged £10.00 per person in the event of a late cancellation or no show. 

When you make a reservation at Howies, you agree to confirm your reservation 24 hours or more prior to arriving.  You will be sent an email requesting confirmation of your reservation and should follow the link provided in the email.  

We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to amend or cancel a reservation. You can amend your booking by contacting us.  Any call-offs within the party must be communicated to us within 24 hours or additional charges may incur.  

Please contact us should you be delayed.  If you arrive 15 minutes after your booking time, the table will be released without further notice and your card will be charged.  Charges will be taken from the credit or debit card that is provided at the time of the booking.

Running late

Please let us know if you are running late. Due to high demand for tables, we will release the booking after 15 minutes beyond your booking time without further notice

Dietary requirements & allergens

Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements we should be aware of when dining with us.

Large parties

We are aware that your numbers may decrease. Please advise us of any cover changes up to 48 hours before the day. Management reserves the right to retain the deposit should the numbers drop on the day without advising us.

Disabled access

It would be great if you could let us know if you require disabled access before you arrive so we can get the perfect table for you.

Tables

Tables are allocated on the day by the restaurant team and although we will do everything we can to allocate a table in your preferred area of the dining room, we cannot always guarantee this. Please book for the number of seats you require, including highchairs and babies in prams.

Vouchers

Please make the restaurant aware of any vouchers you may wish to use at the time of your booking.

Bring your own wine

Available Sunday – Thursday.

A corkage fee of £7.50 applies for 75cl bottles of wine and £8.50 applies for 75cl bottles of Champagne.

Terms and conditions apply. Maximum of one 75cl standard bottle per person. Wine and champagne only. No beer, spirits or soft drinks. 

The Corkage charge covers chilling, opening, serving, use of glasses,  disposing of and recycling the bottle.  

EARLY DINING

Available at Howies Waterloo Place and Howies Victoria Street. Early Dining is available 5pm – 6.30pm Sunday – Thursday. Subject to availability.
